Game Developer’s Conference is next week

The Game Developer's Conference. All the biggest names in the video game industry get together to show off their new stuff, make deals, and celebrate the year. And now that E3 is no longer E3, this is the big conference for the year. And the Game Developer's Conference is also going to be the biggest gig of my film/video career.

Last semester I took a music video production class at the academy. Little did I know at the time, but that would turn out to be a huge turning point. A guy named Fox happened to be in the class as well. We had worked together a few years earlier in our Cine 1 class, but I hadn't been in contact since. We decided to work together again on a music video for the class. Unfortunately the project fell through, but we still talked about doing other projects together. He came up to me after class one day and started talking about the GDC. He had been bidding on the contract to document the conference, and was looking to put together a crew. I said that I was familiar with the conference, and had followed it online last year since I'm a video gamer. He said to keep my schedule open for the beginning of March.

Fox ended up winning the contract to film the conference. The original idea was that we'd have press badges for the conference, allowing us quiet a bit of access to the conference. That still would have limited us from going into some parts of the conference (some of the behind-closed-door stuff), so through some sort of miracle or something he was able to get everyone staff badges, allowing us complete and total access to the entire conference.
